Where generated material can be useful
Ideas can be visualized before a complex production. A surreal imagery can convey a mood without pretending to be a real place. Variations for creative development can also be helpful. Whether this saves time in a specific project depends on the necessary revisions and the desired consistency.
Conversely, a synthetic human should not be presented as a genuine, satisfied customer. If a scene is meant to explain a real product, the details, operation, and outcome must be accurate. Beautiful materials are worthless for this purpose if they depict a function that doesn't exist.
A decision matrix for the briefing
| Task | Meaningful starting point |
|---|---|
| Demonstrate real experience or collaboration | Real interview and approved statements |
| Explain product function precisely | Controllable recording or professionally reviewed visualization |
| Develop an unusual image concept | AI pre-visualization as a possible Design Approach |
| Show a real person in an artificial environment | Hybrid concept with clear review and approval |
The matrix is a planning tool, not a judgment on any tool. Skills and usage conditions change. Test the crucial scene early on before building the entire production on an untested assumption.
What belongs in quality control?
Check movement sequences, hands, labels, product features, and the relationship between shots. Sound, lip movements, and transitions also deserve attention. Errors often only become apparent when a clip is viewed slowly or multiple times.
Also clarifies the origin of the source materials, permissible uses, and required consents. Confidential client documents should not be shared with an external service without verification. The technical capability to replicate a person does not replace consent.
Platform-specific labels may be required for publications. For example, YouTube explains the disclosure of certain realistically altered or synthetic content in its AI Content Help. Check the rules of the channel you actually intend to use.
AI isn't automatically cheaper
A short draft can be created quickly. A brand-consistent, correct, and approved result, on the other hand, can require many attempts and additional post-processing. Therefore, compare the entire process leading to a usable output, not just the initial generation step.
For combining both workflows, see our guide to hybrid production helps.. We discuss how to evaluate AI project proposals in AI Video.
. In Implementation , we start with the message, the visual concept, and the requirements. Only then can we decide which shots will be physically produced and where AI can make a meaningful contribution.
