The Flow Determines the Technology
Before selecting individual devices, we clarify what will happen in the stream. How many people will be speaking? Will there be presentations, videos, or guests joining remotely? Will locations or stages change? And how will the audience watch?
This information forms the basis of the production plan. A discussion in a fixed location requires different organization than an event with multiple program items and changing sources.
Plan Video and Audio Together
A good camera image isn't enough if speakers are difficult to understand. Therefore, audio sources, the room, and the integration of the event technology are coordinated early on. On-screen graphics and playback elements must also fit into the flow.
Participants joining remotely need clear instructions and a test of the intended connection. Who will be delivering presentations and the deadlines for changes are determined in advance. Spontaneous changes can have technical and editorial consequences.
Tests and Agreed-Upon Safeguards
Before the event, the relevant processes are tested. Depending on the requirements, additional safeguards are advisable. Which ones are planned depends on the project and budget. A blanket guarantee of complete fail-safe operation would not be a credible description of a live production.
Furthermore, a designated contact person is needed for decisions made during the event. Technical support and event management should know how to reach each other and who grants which approvals.
Recording and Subsequent Content
The live stream, a revised recording, and short social media clips are different outcomes. If a new edit is required later, recording individual sources separately can be important. This must be agreed upon before the event.
Subsequent editing can be planned via our post-production. For recurring discussion formats, a recorded video podcast may also be suitable.
